Revisionist History

I can honestly say that I have never doctored a resume’ for myself.  Of course, I have never actually given anyone a resume’ to get a job.  I have filled out applications, I have had job interviews and I have had people stop me and on my current job and offer me jobs.  Resume’s were not a common thing back in my younger days.  I do imagine that there are a lot of people who really dress up their resume’s and I have actually helped a few young people describe their work duties in a creative manor without telling a lie.

Here are  a few examples:

Educational Logistics – School Bus Driver

Environmental Beautification with State Institution-  Picked up trash on the side of the highway while on a prison work release program.

These are just a couple and I could think of dozens more but I would rather have dozens of comments  so give it a go in the comment section…remember this is a G rated comic so keep it extra clean.

Music Man – Hank The Handy Man

I would like to see that.  I bet it had to have a big strap on it.

I have a great connection on the  internet this morning and I am loading these comics to post for the next week.  In other words if you are reading this now I probably posted it last week.  I have written and posted devotionals for my church this morning at http://shilohbaptist.blogspot.com for the week.  I have uploaded these comics for this week making me several days ahead of my normal schedule. (Bet you didn’t think I had one.)  Now alas, my buffer is empty as of this writing but I have a week an a half to refill it.  I do have enough comics to start off with next week but the cupboard is lookin’ mighty bare.  I have lots of ideas, I just need a little comic time to get them ready.

I reckon Buster might be right.  We all might seem a little weird to some people but Hank has a point too.  Some folks take it to the extreme.  Yall have a nice weekend.

Unsung Heroes- Hank The Handy Man

Personally I think we owe a great debt of thanks to all who are serving or have served our country in the Military.  Everyone doesn’t get a medal but even those who don’t play a big role in defending our freedom.

While I was wandering aimlessly through the archives I stopped to visit with Hank and Buster long enough to upgrade some of the older comics and turn them into a mini-comic book.  Spending time with Hank and Buster motivated me to do some new comics featuring these two.  I am sure they will be appearing here a few more times in the near future.  In the more distant future I hope to have Shirley back and maybe some more interaction between Mildred and her family.

This has been a really busy summer but most of it has been by choice.  Between making jewelry and comic strips in my spare time  I have to be careful not to let it all get in the way of real life.

We have finally had some days that are fairly cool and I hope to be able to do some outside jobs later.  I hope you all have a good week and remember I am posting here Monday through Friday and on Tuesdays and Thursdays on the other site at http://bolumpkin.wordpress.com  Thanks for your comments and your support.

Better Left Unknown

This is another of the earlier Hank The Handy Man comics.  I guess Hank is well aware that you just can’t help who your kinfolks are but you ain’t always got to advertise it either.

Remember Hank The Handy Man?

These go way back.  They are my attempt at doing a series and it went pretty well until I overdid it and blew a fuse and went off the deep end for awhile.  I wrote myself into a corner and then climbed out the window and left the characters hanging.  For those of you who are contemplating comicing for a living, I don’t recommend this tactic.

I did have a lot of fun with Hank the Handyman and his rusty sidekick Buster (who is Mildred’s son BTW).  I’m not sure if yall are enjoyin’ this walk down memory lane or not but I am havin’ a real good time with it so I guess it don’t really matter.  Next week I might bring back another one of these featuring Shirley the Monkey.
