Creatures of Habit- Dangerous Times

October 1, 2013

Dangerous Times

I can understand the chickens being a little upset with the cows.  There is no excuse for that kind of bad spelling.

On the subject of Chicken, it seems that everyone is on the nugget or filet bandwagon.  Everyone is touting their all white meat chicken parts without bones as if that were a good thing.  I like chicken the way we used to cut them up.  I like the leg and thigh best but I was also fond of the backs.  When I was younger and times were hard I even enjoyed the neck from time to time.  You never see a chicken with a wishbone  (we called them the pulley bone).  Backs are now part of the breast or thigh.

I hate to attack a fellow southerner but it was all Col. Sanders fault.  He invented the art of cutting up a chicken into pieces that no one could recognize.  There have been times I wasn’t even sure it was chicken at all (but it was still finger lickin’ good). I like my dark meat chicken and I want the bone left in it.

You can have your white meat and ‘Eat Mor Chickin” if you want to, but as for me… Beef, it’s what’s for dinner.

Why The Confusion?

August 16, 2013

You First

Not only are they polite but they have trouble making decisions.  Now you know why that age old question about Who came first is still being asked.

Squirrels on the other hand have never been known for their patience.  I guess if you really want to know the answer to the question you will have to ask a squirrel or at least a squirrely person.

Yall have a great weekend.

Home on The Range-Creatures of Habit

Home on The Range

I guess times are hard on the Range as well as everywhere else.  I hope to work on the buffalo drawings some more and maybe throw them into the mix if they survive life on the range.  If they don’t it looks like Phil is waitin’ in the background to clean up the mess.  I made some mistakes with the picture and I will correct the buffaloes sometimes this week.  Can anyone tell me the mistakes I made? That should be good for generating comments.

Next week I will be posting on here Monday through Friday.   More Hank and Buster, some Hospital Humor, another KRUD-TV and some who knows what else (I have a pretty good idea but you will have to come back to find out.)

Yall have a good weekend.

Hot Wings Anyone? Creatures of Habit

July 22, 2013

Hot Wings

I have been workin’ on some new Creatures of Habit comics.  I know you are all thrilled to know that I have been in a creative mood lately.  I have reworked a lot of old stuff and have been inspired to create some new stuff in the process.  Hopefully when I get through loading all this weeks posts on the site I want to work on some Gezeerhood Comics tonight.  I am trying to do this without leaving out some of my older stuff.

Mildred and Edna will be back on Friday. I will have another episode of KRUD TV here Wednesday.   Lately since I have been posting twice a week at http://bolumpkin.wordpress.com on Tuesday and Wednesday and a variety of comics on this page on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, I have also been posting a blog on the other site on Saturday.  I want to make things easier for my readers.  Would it be better if I posted all the comics on this site,(including the remakes) and just blogged on the other site or should I keep things the way they are now.  Your input would be appreciated.

I have enough sayings and Gatorhead postcards to post at least twice a week for about 20 weeks on the other site if I move all the comics to this site.  I have only been using the sayings and postcards when I had nothing to post on the other site and they are just sitting in the buffer.

I mainly just want to give the readers what they want when they want it and I don’t want to over saturate the site and lose readers.  I also don’t want to hit a dry spell and have to take a break or re-post too much stuff.  There is another downside that I have to consider…I don’t want to kick the bucket with a full buffer that will never get posted.  I am not going to dwell on that situation much but I once I make a decision on when and where to post everything I plan to at least load stuff and schedule it for later.  I  can always change it if I need too.  Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

Pondering The Important

February 20, 2013

Pondering The Important

Sometimes we can get caught up in life and make it a whole lot more complex than it really has to be.  I consider myself one of the richest men in the world.  I have a decent place to live.  I eat way too much.  I have two automobiles and both are runnin’ at this time.  I have two great kids, 3 grandkids the  best wife in the world and Molly (the super energized weiner dog).  If I had to settle up financially tonight I would still have some of my stuff left because what I have is worth more than I owe.  My health might be a little sub par but so far I have woke up every day for over 62 years.  I don’t even have to wonder if there is a possum at the crossroads because I’ve got stuff in the freezer.  Yep, all in all, I reckon Bill Gates and Donald Trump ain’t got it much better than I have it.

Gatorhead Comics with ADs

February 14, 2013

Cafe Comic In Progress

This is the next to the last draft of the Gatorhead Comic Sheet with ads.  I think I have included all the ads that were sent to me.  If you sent me an ad and it isn’t included please remind me or send it again and I will include it in a later issue or a later reprint of this on.  If you have an ad (or not) and would like to print some of these flyers out and hand out to friends or even people you don’t really like, feel free to do so.  If your ad is included it might be to your benefit to share some copies.

I will be printing a hundred of these in color this weekend and probably will pass them out in places where they will receive multiple views.  I will then print another hundred to hand out during Craft Shows and Jewelry sales next month.  If you see any errors or anything that should be changed please let me know.  I do want this to be a good reflection on the advertisers. I have one more ad to paste on the page but it is a local ad and I have to do some scanning and adjusting on it.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Cute Buzzard

January 16, 2013

buzzard-for-Bo

A week or two ago I posted a comic of Chester and Phil and Chester was complainin’ that other comic strip characters were cute.  I tried a few looks to make chester look cute but so far none of them seem to be workin’ for him.  Jeremy Burkes from JB’S TOONS http://jbstoons.wordpress.com sent me a drawing of Chester in overalls.  That kind of fits with the Gatorhead theme.  Be sure and check out Jeremy’s comic.

This week I received this great picture form the talented Jande Rowe, creator of “Aedre’s Firefly”, http://www.e-orbits.com and a great encourager on the web. I am not sure if it is what I would call cute but it is definitely a fantastic piece of artwork.  I hope you love it as much as I do.

Be sure and check out the websites of my friends.  I am sure you will be glad you did.

I posted over 858 times on my old Blogspot site at http://bolumpkin.blogspot.com  If you want to go back and look things over on a slow day the site is still up but I haven’t been adding anything new.

Bo

P.S  Just for those of you who keep up with that sort of thing this is my 500th post on this website.  I also post at http://bolumpkin.wordpress.com

A.G.A.C. or Ain’t Got A Clue

Agac 1

I think education is a wonderful thing.  I am still pursuing mine (though not formally). There is more than one kind of education and many hardworking people who know how to do things add much more to society than a lot of the PHD’s who contribute nothing but talk.

More Comics Comin’

January 8, 2013

I had planned to post a new Creatures of Habit comic today but didn’t get around to it. I will have it posted for tomorrow.
Actually last night I sat down and made jewelry for the first time. I have been a little reluctant to make any because I am still not sure if I will be able to do the Farmer’s Markets and craft shows later on. Since my daughter will probably be working some of them I decided to go ahead work on some. I will post some of it on my other site after I get a little more made. I am going to continue with new comics and I have some new stuff in the works.
Thanks
Bo.

Lookin Good ..or Not

Lookin' Good- Or Not

I think Chester has kind of missed the boat on tryin’ to look cute.  I’m sure he will try to come up with something else.
