Seniority

Have you ever worked on one of those jobs where people got special privileges for being there a long time.  Some of them didn’t really have 20 years experience.  They had 1 year experience 20 times.

    Seniority. You get to keep your job but end up all by yourself in the office. Hooray for retirement. heheheh

    That’s what I complained about at my old job. They downsized the departments and loaded up the survivors with way more work than they could handle.

    It’s a real pain when you have to work at work. There should be a law against that sort of thing.

    Usually they dump the old dudes because they make too much.

      Not around here. A big plant here was having cutbacks so they laid off all the janitors and kept the worthless overpaid executives. They finally went bankrupt though and someone else bought them.

    In IT they dump the “old” dudes because they presume that everyone lets their skills stagnate.
