I always had a rule for my kids that they should always let me know where they were and if they were going somewhere else, after a ballgame etc. that they should call. They were pretty good about keeping me informed.
Now the shoe is on the other foot. If we forget to take our cell phone and our kids can’t get in touch with us for a couple of hours they go into a panic. My wife and I just kind of smile at each other and say, “Payback.”
